Cosmetic Uses for Lavender Sachets
Facial Steam Instructions:
Ingredients:
3 bags lavender flower bud
1-2 quarts (64 fl oz) water
Directions
-
- Place sachets in a wide glass bowl.
- Boil water, then pour over herbs.
- Sit comfortably with face positioned 10 inches from the bowl—close enough to feel the steam, but not so close as to be burned by it.
- Cover head with a towel, creating a tent over your head and the bowl.
- Steam face for approximately 5 minutes.
- Splash cool water on face and gently pat dry with a clean towel.
The heat from face steams loosens oils to aid in the removal of unwanted substances, like excess sebum (oils produced by your skin follicles), dirt and bacteria.
- Since acne is caused by excess sebum trapped in your follicles prompting bacteria growth, face steams help combat acne.
- When your pores are open and warm, they can more easily absorb hydration as well as any skincare products you apply afterwards.
- The heat from the steam also results in increased circulation, promoting healing.
Hair Rinse Instructions:
Ingredients:
3 bags lavender flower bud
Vinegar (white or apple cider)
Directions
Place dried lavender sachets into a glass jar.
Each sachet has 2 Tbs of lavender bud. You can use about 1 cup of dried lavender for a strong infusion. 4 sachets is a 1/2 cup.
Pour vinegar over the lavender until it is fully submerged. Make sure to use a non-metal lid, as vinegar can corrode metal.
Cover the jar and let it sit in a cool, dark place for 1-2 weeks. This allows the lavender to infuse its properties into the vinegar.
After the infusion period, take out the lavender sachets. Squeeze the sachets into the solution. You can store the lavender vinegar in a clean bottle for future use.
A lavender hair rinse can soothe the scalp, promote hair health, and provide a calming aroma, making it a delightful addition to your hair care routine.
Lavender is known for its calming effects, which can enchance your mood during hair care routines. It has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties, making it effective for reducing dandruff and soothing dry scalp conditions.
Lavender can help with hair growth for those experiencing hair loss.
Bath Instructions:
Ingredients:
1-4 bags lavender flower bud
1-2 cups epsom salts
Directions
Prepare a tub with warm water and throw in the salt while the tub is filling.
Once the tub is filled, soak the bags of lavender bud and get into the tub.
Squish the bags of lavender and inhale the beautiful scent of the bud.
As you soak in the warmth of the tub, keep a sachet close to continue to inhale. Use the other bags to place on your body or face.
The smell is not strong enough to fill the entire room but the benefits of the soothing scent aid in relaxing your body while in the tub.
These bags are a conveinant way to enjoy lavender in the bath without the messy cleanup.
