Since most of us spend our lives inside manufactured dwellings separated from the natural environment, society has shifted attention away from nature to focus on other tasks. Most people unconsciously block out the natural environment even when they are in it, which causes animal messages to come more unexpectedly.

Many only become aware of messengers once their emotions get involved. However, that emotional response is what brings the event to our awareness. Below is a list of emotional reactions and what they might indicate. However, it would help if you always trusted what your intuition resonates with upon your deeper contemplation.

ANNOYED

When you find yourself frustrated, distracted, or irritated due to an interruption from an animal, you must pause whatever you are doing and pay attention to the message because there is a need to delay, alter, or stop that particular activity and gain another perspective. You are being interrupted intentionally to do so.

Examples are: woodpecker knocking, crickets chirping, cicada screams, dogs barking, coyote chatter, rooster calls, horse neighs, flies landing, mosquitos biting, bees buzzing around you, etc.

AFRAID

When you find yourself upset, afraid, or nervous in response to an animal, this is a warning to get you to empower yourself. Your guides want to deter you from going down a negative path to prevent an unhappy outcome. These feelings are triggered to get you to notice a safer path in life, and to call on support for assistance. It is also a call to pay more attention to your intuition, feel your body, take better care of your health, and be on the lookout for red flags.

Examples are: being stalked, chased, pushed out of the way of something, or attacked in a dream, being visited by an animal who communicates with you in a dream or vision, being caught in a spider web, being forced off a cliff, seeing animals running or flying towards you, being taken underground, in the air, or water, etc.

ALARMED

When you find yourself in shock, frozen, or in awe, this is a warning very similar to being afraid or annoyed. However, your guides want you to be alert to to take immediate action to remove yourself from a situation. Sometimes, it is simply to get you to stop thinking detrimental thoughts or saying something regretfully incorrect.

Examples are: hearing an animal scream loudly, a bird hitting the window, a deer jutting across your car

CONTENT

When you find yourself content, happy, or joyous in response to an animal message, this denotes you are on the right path and being encouraged to continue what you are doing. Perhaps you are being given extra extra support. The omen is to encourage, inspire, grow, and strengthen your development.

Examples are: finding a pretty shell, feather, or artifact on the ground, seeing repeating animal in cute illustrations such as on shirts or stickers, seeing animal shapes in clouds or sculptures
